Therapy for Men in Brooklyn Heights, NY
Welcome
Asking for help is hard—especially for men. Many of us were raised to believe we should handle everything on our own, and when we struggle, we assume it’s a personal failure. We compare ourselves to others, thinking everyone else has it figured out, while we’re just trying to keep it together. The coping tools we’ve picked up—whether it’s building walls or avoiding boundaries—may have helped us survive, but now they’re holding us back.
It’s confusing when the behaviors that once protected us are suddenly called “toxic,” and we’re left feeling stuck, unsure of how to move forward without losing ourselves. Every attempt to get it “right” feels like a never-ending test, and the pressure to keep performing only deepens the stress. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
I’m Justin Lioi, and for over ten years I’ve helped men navigate parenting stress, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, and anger. There’s no one way to be a man today—and that can feel both freeing and disorienting. My role is to help you understand who you are now so you can become who you want to be, on your terms.
